Online Orientation FAQ

With the University’s announcement that all instruction will be remote for the Summer semester, the decision has been made to deliver New Student Orientation in a virtual format this summer. This experience will incorporate asynchronously delivered online modules coupled with virtual small group chats between you, your Orientation Leader and your peers. This summer you will be able to work with an advisor to have a 1-to-1 advisement appointment and be able to register for your classes at that time.

We know that you may have a lot of questions about how online orientation will look. Below, we have pulled together some of the frequently asked questions regarding online orientation.

When will registration open for the Online New Student Orientation Experience?

Online New Student Orientation Experience registration will open in early May. You will receive an email to both your UGA and personal email accounts when the portal opens.

How does registration work for the Online New Student Orientation Experience?

You will receive an email to both your UGA and personal email accounts in the coming weeks with the instructions on how to register for our Online New Student Orientation Experience. So be sure to check your inbox regularly.

You will receive access to the online UGA 101 modules two weeks prior to your virtual small group, and you are strongly encouraged to have completed the modules prior to your small group experience.

Will completing the UGA 101 modules earlier help me get my housing and class preferences?

What do these online UGA 101 modules look like?

These modules are a series of videos, information pages, and links to resources that will help incoming students connect with and learn about various campus resources, programs, and organizations. Upon completion, students will be better prepared to be successful students, leaders, and members of the Bulldog Nation.
