To best prepare our incoming students, portions of new student orientation will be delivered online. These experiences will allow students to learn about the opportunities and resources available at UGA while also connecting with other incoming students via Zoom, Instagram, and various other platforms.
*Please note that ALL INCOMING STUDENTS are required to complete the UGA 101 Learning Modules as a part of their orientation requirements. Though all other online opportunities are encouraged, they are not mandated for students
These modules are a series of videos, information pages, and links to resources that will help incoming students connect with and learn about various campus resources, programs, and organizations. Upon completion, students will be better prepared to be successful students, leaders, and members of the Bulldog Nation.
Students will receive instructions on how to access to UGA 101 via email. Students must complete these modules before they will be contacted by an academic advisor.
Once an incoming student completes their UGA 101 Learning Modules, Academic Advisors will communicate with them with instructions on how to sign up for their academic advising appointment. These appointments will be conducted via Zoom, phone call, or email.
Once advised and all holds are cleared, students will have the opportunity to register for class.
Throughout November and December, New Student Orientation will be hosting various online engagement opportunities for our incoming students. These include our Dawg Talks webinar series, Instagram live sessions, and much more. These sessions are focused to help prepare new students to be successful students, leaders, and members of the Bulldog Nation. Check out our Online Engagement Opportunity Page for more information.
New Student Orientation recognizes that the college transition does not only affect students, but affects their parents, family, and support systems. NSO will be hosting various webinars aimed at preparing them to support their new students with guidance from various campus partners and our Orientation Leaders.
We also encourage parents and family members to sign up for our Parent and Family Newsletter. To sign up for the newsletter, students can provide the contact information for the family members that they would like included on their Virtual Small Group registration form.
To assist new students in this transition to UGA, New Student Orientation has created the Welcome to UGA app as a resource hub for this summer and upcoming fall. Guidebook will include links to websites, important UGA information, webinar schedules, and much more. You can download the Welcome to UGA app for smartphones and tablets on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
