Summer Transfer Information

Welcome Summer Transfer Students!

New Student Orientation will be delivered in a hybrid model this upcoming summer. This experience will incorporate asynchronously delivered online modules coupled with an opportunity for incoming students to attend an optional in-person orientation session. This summer you will also be able to meet with an advisor to have a 1-to-1 virtual advisement appointment and be able to register for your classes following that meeting.

New Student Orientation is an experience that is designed to help you prepare our newest students for success in their first year at UGA. Before you arrive, get to know your Orientation Leaders (OL’s), learn about orientation requirements, review important information, and prepare for your transition to the University of Georgia

Welcome to the Bulldog Nation, and as always, Go Dawgs!

UGA 101 Modules

UGA 101 Modules are required for all incoming students and they must be completed prior to being given an academic advising appointment date range. UGA 101 modules will open at the end of April for all transfer students. The earlier that a student completes their required modules, the earlier their appointment date range will be.

You can access these modules via your UGA application status page and will receive a reminder email when modules open.

Academic Advising and Class Registration

Incoming students will meet with their academic advisor virtually this summer. Students are required to complete their UGA 101 modules and upon completion, students will receive an academic advising appointment date range based on when they complete their modules. As you near your approximate advising date range, you will receive further instructions from your advisor via your UGA email. Upon completion of that advising appointment and clearing of all other holds, students will be able to complete their class registration.

Optional In-Person Orientation Sessions

Depending on which summer session you are planning to enroll, our in-person orientation sessions may occur after your begin classes. Though we do not have any dedicated summer start sessions, we invite summer start students to attend in-person sessions. If you would like to attend an in-person orientation session, please email and we will coordinate with you directly.
