Welcome to Orientation!

The New Student Orientation guidebook apps are available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. This app will have a copy of the schedule, important contacts and phones and number of other resources to help prepare you during and after orientation.

We look forward to having you with us for Orientation. As you prepare for your trip to Athens, we would like to provide you with some helpful information:

Lodging: Students will be able to stay in an on-campus residence hall during orientation.  Guests that are looking for lodging options are encouraged to explore local Athens establishments or The Georgia Center’s UGA Hotel and Conference Center, which is located on campus.

Parking: Parking for check-in and the duration of the orientation program will be in the Tate Student Center Parking Deck; students and families will need to stop and inform the parking attendant that they are there for orientation prior to parking.

Advising and Class Registration Holds:

Transfer students will be advised and register for courses online. Transfer students must complete their UGA 101 modules in order to receive a virtual academic advising appointment. If all other requirements and registration holds have been completed, then a transfer is able to register for courses after their advising appointment is complete.

First-year students must complete their UGA 101 modules, prior to attending orientation. First-year students will have their academic advising appointment on Day 2 of their in-person orientation session. They will receive an email with appointment location and time during orientation.
