Welcome to Orientation!

The New Student Orientation guidebook apps are available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. This app will have a copy of the schedule, important contacts and phones and number of other resources to help prepare you during and after orientation.

We look forward to having you with us for Orientation. As you prepare for your trip to Athens, we would like to provide you with some helpful information:

Lodging: Families and guests that are looking for lodging options are encouraged to explore local Athens establishments or The Georgia Center’s UGA Hotel and Conference Center, which is located on campus. University Housing also provides overnight accommodations the day before and night after each session.

Dining Options: At orientation, lunch and dinner will be provided in Bolton Dining to all orientation students at no additional cost. Parents and families may also eat in Bolton at a discounted orientation rate. There are also other eateries on available for breakfast including Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks.

Advising and Class Registration Holds: As a reminder, advising and registration occurs separately from these optional, in person sessions. If you have not already, make sure that you have completed your UGA 101 Online Modules so that you can be assigned an advising appointment date range to meet with your advisor virtually

Service Project

Finally, we would like to highlight a community service project sponsored by the Office of Admissions and New Student Orientation. We will be supporting the SGA Professional Clothing Closet and UGA Bulldog Basics programs this summer. Information on both programs and items need for donation are included below!

In an effort to support every student with the tools they need to pursue their career goals, the SGA Professional Clothing Closet provides any student in need with one free business professional outfit per academic year for their next interview or professional engagement. Donations are primarily from alumni, businesses, organizations, and incoming Bulldog families like yours! Professional attire such as suits, shirts/blouses, slacks/skirts can be dropped off at the Ticket Booth on the 5th floor of the Tate Student Center during your orientation session; if you are able to contribute to this cause, it would be greatly appreciated! Please visit clothingcloset.uga.edu for more information and the graphic below for what we need most.

Students, to place an order for a free professional outfit this fall, visit clothingcloset.uga.edu and/or schedule an appointment during our staffed hours. Do not forget to follow us on Instagram @ugacloset for more campus resources and to visit an event this fall!
