is an extended orientation program designed to assist students with their transition into the University of Georgia community. More information about Dawg Camp programming will be available soon.

UGA Housing

From traditional residence halls for first-year students and upperclassmen to apartments and townhomes for graduate students and families, the University of Georgia has a living space to suit everyone’s tastes. Choosing to live in University Housing is your key to comfortable, affordable and secure on-campus living. Living on campus also gives you the opportunity to participate in your new residential community and take part in the creation of an environment in which people are growing through new experiences just like you are.

First-Year Odyssey

Your first year at UGA is an exciting time to engage, experience and explore the opportunities available to you at the University of Georgia. The First-Year Odyssey seminars are designed to introduce you to the academic life of the University. These seminars will allow you to engage with faculty and other first-year students in a small class environment to learn about the unique academic culture the University offers. This website showcases over 300 seminars proposed by UGA faculty on amazing topics focused on the teaching, research and service passions of our faculty. We are certain that you will find a topic that sparks your interest and may even become your passion as you start your academic journey at UGA.

Engagement, Leadership, and Service

The department of Engagement, Leadership, and Service (ELS) seeks to deliver programs, services, events, and significant learning experiences which strengthen students’ connection to the University, cultivate a sense of community, and empower students to be engaged and contributing leaders.

ELS believes student engagement is a pivotal part of an enriched collegiate experience. With ELS, students can join student organizations, participate in and lead service opportunities, engage with leadership trainings and content, coordinate and attend multiple events on campus, and so much more.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) of the University of Georgia is the organized outlet for UGA students to enact change and improve this university. We pride ourselves on being the voice of every Dawg.

Incoming first-year students at the University of Georgia have a unique opportunity to get involved with Student Government Association from the start. SGA’s First-Year Programs (FYP)are three groups of driven, diverse, and dedicated students who work to make a real impact on the campus and enhance the first-year experience. Each program is led by accomplished UGA upperclass students who serve as directors and mentors throughout the year. Students have the opportunity to build community through meeting new people while learning their strengths and becoming a more confident and passionate leader. In addition to their contributions to the Student Government Association, members also complete a core curriculum designed to enhance their own personal first-year experience that includes topics on transition into the institution, academic success, leadership and involvement, campus traditions, inclusion, and resume-building and career preparation. FYP alumni also go on to fill leadership roles in various student organization across campus, and projects accomplished by members of First-Year Programs continue to affect UGA for years to come.

Student Alumni Council

The Student Alumni Council (SAC) is where the three pillars of the Arch – Wisdom, Justice, and Moderation – meet the three core values of the University of Georgia Alumni Association – Pride, Loyalty, and Tradition. In an effort to establish these values in the student body, SAC was created to enhance the academic experience by providing programs and events focused on the spirit, history, and tradition of UGA. SAC also seeks to connect students with alumni in an effort to promote networking and camaraderie amongst all of the Bulldog students, past and present. Students who are part of SAC are Georgia Fund donors which means that they are already financial supporters of this great university, the nation’s oldest state-chartered public institution.

International Student Life

The department of International Student Life (ISL) enhances the student‐learning environment through programs and services that internationalize the campus experience. This work is accomplished through focused and intentional efforts in three core areas:

Transition & Support: Services and programs aimed at supporting international students to assist with their ongoing transition to the University of Georgia and life in the United States.

Programming & Outreach: Opportunities and events designed for the UGA and Athens communities to share, explore, and learn about cultures in an effort to build an inclusive and internationalized campus.

Leadership & Engagement: Volunteer and leadership opportunities that promote global citizenship through individual growth, and cross-cultural learning and development.

Greek Life

The mission of the Greek Life Office is to provide the fraternities and sororities with educational programs and services that create, promote, and foster a learning community. The fraternities and sororities are an established tradition at the University of Georgia, dating back more than 150 years. There are currently 62 national Greek-letter men’s and women’s groups at the University of Georgia. The self-governing, self-supporting bodies of the fraternities and sororities are the Interfraternity Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, the Multicultural Greek Council, and the Panhellenic Council. These groups coordinate events, provide educational programs, establish community wide regulations and implement policies for their member organizations.

Multicultural Services and Programs

The Office of Multicultural Services and Programs (MSP) works to create an inclusive campus environment by supporting the development and affirming the overall experiences of all students, particularly multicultural students. MSP envisions a University of Georgia that honors the identities, perspectives, and world-views of our entire community in a way that advances social justice and an institutional way of being that models inclusiveness for all students, faculty, and staff.

UGA Pride Center

The mission of the Pride Center at the University of Georgia is to foster an inclusive, informed community for LGBTQ+ individuals through collaboration, education, and advocacy.
