About NSO
New Student Orientation at the University of Georgia seeks to prepare students for academic and social engagement as members of the UGA community. Through our transition programs and resources, we aim to provide information and experiences that will support students and their family in their transition to college and to the University of Georgia.
The New Student Orientation Program is housed in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and supports the University and the Office of Instruction by working towards its mission: to prepare students, their families, and supporters for academic and community engagement by promoting self-cultivation, community development, and an understanding of instructional and institutional processes prior to enrollment and throughout the first year.
As you prepare to join the UGA community, we aim to support you throughout this transition as you progress towards a timely graduation! The University of Georgia is committed to providing students with a positive learning experience and believe that to ensure a productive start to that journey, there is information and experiences that students need to receive and take part in. For this reason, attendance at a New Student Orientation session is MANDATORY for all incoming students.
